Nandansons and Veerayatan: Elementary & Secondary Schools at Jakhania, Kutch, Gujarat

Ajay and Ankur and Gupta Family and Nandansons Staff are happy to partner with Veerayatan International to bring education to those in need and have a positive impact on the local community

The Veerayatan Vidyapeeth schools at Jakhania are on the Bhuj-Mandvi Road between Bhuj , the District headquarters of Kutch District,  and the ancient old seaport of Mandvi. The buildings have all been architecturally designed and constructed to be earthquake resistant. Even though it is located in the Raan(desert) of Kutch, a semi-arid region, the campus is vibrant and colorful  with vegetation due to the vision of Acharya Shri Chandanaji.

• Schools set up to serve the local community; Most children’s parents don’t have higher education
• At present 800 children are studying in the school to receive elementary and secondary school education
• The first time experience of formal education  for many children and the first time many girls have ever gone on to secondary school
• A well-rounded education includes Physical Education , music, public speaking and debate as well as focusing on good habits and laudable values
• Children come from challenging backgrounds but compete and achieve distinction level recognition in district level competitions
• Great success in the 10^th Board examinations; Students have been achieving  very good grades every year since the school has been in operation
• Some of the students stay in the dormitories and some commute
